UCSD Wind Ensemble

Led by Robert Zelickman, a large orchestral wind ensemble of 40+ students work together for a semester in an intermediate to advanced level ensemble performing traditional to contemporary band literature. Like other ensembles at UCSD, the students perfrom at the end of the quarter. However, due to their large numbers, their perfroamnce is held at the Mandeville Center Auditorium at UCSD. Though not the best sounding hall, EAG's engineers manipulate the acoustics of the space to get a great sound with only 4 channels from a standard Audio Package. Using stereo techniques in conjunction with the understanding of the acoustics in the space, EAG placed the microphones in optimal positions and recorded a clear, honest sound. Furthermore, EAG mixed the recording in post-production giving it the orchestral sound it desrves.
